Where is the Phlebotomy Clinic at the Oncology Centre?
The Phlebotomy clinic is located at Level 0 of SAMOC block.
How does the Phlebotomy Clinic operate?
Patients attend the clinic when they need to undertake blood investigations. Phlebotomists offer their service to all the in-patients and out-patients visiting the clinic.
Your appointment
All patients requiring the Phlebotomy services would need to arrange an appointment by phone or directly at the Phlebotomy clinic.
Out-patient services
Out-patients are referred to the Phlebotomy clinic by their ward doctor or Consultant. Usually requests are done electronically with some few exceptions on a request form. The phlebotomist checks your record for requests online and generates a bar code prior to venipuncture. Should you be given a paper request form for other blood tests it is important that you present it to the Phlebotomist prior to venipuncture.
An appointment is fixed according to the date given by the doctor or Consultant. It is very important that you take with you the Malta Identity Card or some form of official identification.
